Tonight I am excited. I finished my about me page last night, and asked Debbe (my wife) to read it and she still loves me. I just got home from a wordpress meetup in Orlando, Jeff was able to fix the problem I had with my pictures. While at the meeting I was talking to Nelson about affiliate marketing, told him I just put some adsence ads on this site, he asked if I made any money. I did not know so I looked and I had, I made one cent. My first internet income. Thank you to whomever it was. Neil gave me some great advice on SEO. I listened to the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill as I drove to the meeting. I don’t know why I changed books; the thought just came to me so I did. I had read it before, probably when I was in High school, but I could not tell you what it was about. I was surprised to find out it is about the Success Principals. I know I have heard about the Success Principals several times over the years. But for some reason, until now, I never worked on them intentionally.
When the book talks about working and giving more than you need to… I have always done that but I was working as though I was working for the Lord. It is the same principal. As I said in my about me page I worked hard and I got rewarded for it from everyone I worked for, except the last guy Tapan Trevedi.
Writing the about me page has caused me to think about me and my life, something I don’t do; now I think that it is a good thing to do and will do it more. One thing I realized is the reason Tapan was able to pull me down so far is everyone has always given back to me; I gave more than they expected and in return they gave me more than they agreed to give me. I kept expecting Tapan to reciprocate but he never did .The more I gave the more he took and expected more. If I stayed with him I think I could have eventually ended up in jail from the way he runs his business, that and the fact that he would definitely through me under the bus.
The book does not mention people like him, so I’m not sure what to think about this situation. I’d love to sit down with Jack Canfield and discus this.
I write so slow, it is now 2:00 AM I need to get to bed.
I’m excited how the book is affecting me and what will come of it.

The next morning as I was taking out the day before paper I saw this cartoon.
I think the timing of finding this cartoon was perfect. I’m not aware of ever hearing this quote but it hits home with me in my life right now. My life has been the unexamined life – until now.
